Chromatic Sonata
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
A violin sighs, releasing ultramarine threads that coil like smoke around the rafters. Each bow stroke drags a streak of cadmium yellow, bright and brittle, across the silent air. The cello answers in deep vermilion, thick as dried blood, pooling in the corners where shadows gather. When the flute trills, it scatters mica‑green dust, tiny flecks that catch the light and tremble before falling. Together they compose a mural no eye can hold, a symphony that paints the room in sound.
