Synesthetic Memory
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dim glow of my study, I recalled how a single chord could unfurl into a color that brushed the tongue with citrus zest and the scent of rain on hot stone. Each note slipped into my mind like a traveler swapping stories, painting invisible pigments onto the inner landscape. The silence between them held its own rhythm, a gentle tide that carried the memory of sunrise on a forgotten shore, where amber light danced with the taste of distant mangoes. I watched how the first tone stretched, coaxing amber light to pulse against my skin, while distant birds sang a soft violet cadence that tasted of honey and rain. In that fleeting resonance I sensed the bridge between sound and sight, a reminder that every moment can be both felt and seen.
