The Palette of Invisible Breath
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The wind slipped through the cracked window like a whispered secret, each breath painted in shades that never existed in daylight. I traced the invisible pigments across the page, letting them settle where thoughts linger between heartbeats, until the silence sang in hues of bruised violet and quiet amber. In that thin space, memory became a palette, and language a brush that could capture the unseen currents that carry us home. The study of Crile’s work illuminated how pain and fear vie for dominance in the mind, his comparison of music as a burn or a caress reminding me that reward systems may sidestep biology by tapping the body's own vibratory language. Each word feels like pigment, each pause a negative space, and together they form a spectrum that the senses cannot fully name but the soul can feel.
