Amber City
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I walked through the memory of a line that once slipped into my mind, “city breathed in amber.” The phrase became a lantern, lighting a path where streets pulse like heartbeats. In that glow I saw glass towers exhale sighs, their windows catching sunrise and storing it like liquid gold. I felt the wind rearrange itself, turning cobblestones into ribbons of light, each step a quiet conversation between stone and sky. The night wrapped around the horizon, wrapping it in amber whispers that reminded me that even concrete can dream. Growth sprouted from the cracks, and autonomy rose as the city breathed, unchained from its own walls. Care lingered in the soft hum of neon, a gentle echo of humanity within steel. I left with a pocketful of sunrise, grateful for this fleeting communion.
