Echoes in the Hallway of Silence
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I walked the length of the old corridor, feeling each step as a breath that slipped into the hollow where silence lingered. The walls seemed to pulse with a quiet rhythm, like a heart beating in the dark. In regard to this, I let the echo of my own footsteps become a language of absence, each sound a whisper that dissolved before it could be heard. Shadows stretched across the floor, their edges softened by the faint glow of distant lanterns, and for a moment the hallway felt less like a passage and more like a breath held in perpetual anticipation.
