Tide of Memory
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
Along the shoreline, each incoming wave arrives with a quiet insistence, gathering shells, seaweed, and the faint imprint of footprints that once marked the sand. As the tide retreats, it leaves behind a shimmering memory of what was there moments before, the water carrying away the surface while preserving the subtle patterns etched in the wet earth. In this rhythm, I have learned to listen: the surge is the moment of experience, the ebb is the act of remembering, and the returning tide whispers that every loss is softened by its passage. The sea does not judge; it simply returns what was given, allowing the mind to drift between the high and low, understanding that both are necessary for the ocean’s endless story.
