Echoes in the Unfinished
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I sat by the window as the rain tapped a half‑remembered rhythm, each patter a soft sigh that refused to fade. The old piano in the attic still hummed with chords I never learned to resolve, and those lingering notes felt like the unspoken words that gather dust in my chest. When I pressed the keys, the sound spilled into the room, and I heard my own heart thudding, a low chord of regret that refuses to resolve. In that space between the final note and the silence that followed, I recognized that lingering sounds are the echoes of emotions still waiting for a voice; they are bridges between what was and what might be, each one a thread stitching the past to the present.
