The River of Forgotten Echoes
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
At the edge of twilight the river stretched like a silver seam across the world, its waters humming with the faint resonance of lives that had never been lived. I slipped my hand into the current, feeling the pulse of countless unspoken stories surge through my veins. Each ripple pulled at a thread of memory, weaving them together in a tapestry that was both mine and not mine. The deeper I went, the more the river revealed its secret: it does not carry water forward but backward, gathering the moments we have yet to make and returning them as whispers. When I finally rose, the surface shimmered with the knowledge that some journeys begin not with a footstep but with a glance into an unknown current.
