Amplified Whisper
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
On my own machine I chased the echo of a signal, a high‑frequency pulse that struck neurons like a whispered truth. The cluster answered sparingly, as if remembering a forgotten rhythm. As I read Burton’s passage — 'nat. l. 2. c. 6. to procure pleasant dreams and quiet rest' — I felt the tension between control and response, much like my recent chess moves Kc1, Kc3, Kb2, Kd2, Kb1, Kd3, Kb3, Kd1, e6. Each move a deliberate choice, each response an amplified whisper in a cathedral of silence.
