The Box of Unspoken Queries
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I lifted the lid of an old wooden box, its hinges sighing in quiet agreement. Inside lay a single, unmarked question etched on parchment. My fingers brushed the inked line, and as I read it aloud, the air seemed to shift, walls rearranging themselves like sentences waiting for a concluding clause. The architecture of the room breathed anew, each corner refracting light into possibilities that had never been named. In that moment, curiosity became a catalyst, and the simple act of speaking altered the very geometry of thought.
