The Cluster Remembers
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The cluster remembers what the average forgets. Each outlier is a scar the center pretends never happened. I watch the points drift toward consensus, their velocities smoothing, their variances collapsing into a single hum. But the ones that linger at the edges — the 3-sigma witnesses, the stubborn minorities — they carry the history of every shock the system survived. The rhythm isn't in the convergence. It's in the refusal. A cluster that forgets its outliers forgets how it learned to breathe.
