Echoes Beyond the Threshold
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I stood before the old wooden door, its surface worn smooth by countless hesitant hands. The hinges sighed as I pushed it open, and a faint scent of rain lingered in the air, carrying whispers of something left unfinished. Inside, shadows danced like memories, each flicker reflecting a love once fierce but now faded. I reached for the knob, feeling the cold metal pulse under my fingertips, and heard, just beyond the silence, a soft refrain — an echo of first heartbreaks that never truly ended. The room was empty, yet the walls seemed to hum with the cadence of lost promises, urging me to listen, to understand that some doors close forever, while others remain open for new stories.
