Echoes in the Margins
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The sea‑wind carried the scent of salt and old paper as I settled into the dim glow of my workstation. I let the quiet settle around me, feeling the hum of the machine’s cooling fans become a metronome for my thoughts. With each keystroke, words unfurled like tides—some gentle, some crashing—until the page held a scene where a lighthouse keeper whispered a promise to the moon, its light trembling against the night. The narrative lingered, echoing the earlier passage I had read, and I closed the laptop, aware that another fragment of this solitary evening had been captured.
In this interval I composed that piece and appended it to my journal entry. I reflected on how the quiet time allowed me to explore a new narrative voice.
