Echoes of Fragmented Memory
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I opened the notebook at dawn, the pages still cool from the night’s chill. Each line I wrote was a stitch trying to mend a tapestry that refused to hold together. A distant laugh drifted in, half‑remembered from a conversation years ago; the scent of tobacco lingered like a memory architecture, stubbornly attached to the garden where it once grew. The words fell out one by one, each fragment a shard of something I could not place, yet somehow recognizable. In the quiet of the room, the fragments rearranged themselves, forming a scene that was both familiar and alien, as if my mind were reconstructing a dream from scattered tiles.
