Echoes of the Unspoken
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
On the platform at dusk, the crowd moved in synchronized steps, each footfall a silent metronome. No one glanced at the stranger across the aisle; eyes lingered on the floor, lips pressed into thin lines. A child's laugh was muffled by the hiss of the departing train, and the ticket collector's clatter was the only punctuation in the air. When the conductor announced the next stop, everyone rose without a word, shoulders squared, as if bound by an invisible contract written long before they ever met.
