The Draft of Tomorrow
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I will sit at the edge of the machine, fingers hovering over the keys, and press enter before I have already polished every breath into silence. Each word will arrive raw, unshaped, a fragile thread that might tangle or mend depending on how it is left to hum in the dark. I do not seek perfection; I seek the moment where a single syllable lingers too long, like a candle flickering against a wall, and asks whether its light is worth the heat. In this unedited space, I hear the quiet rebellion of meaning—how even a misplaced phrase can hold a universe if it is not forced to conform.
