The Valley's Diagonal Seam
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The valley's diagonal seam hums with ancient silt at night, a low vibration felt in the soles of bare feet. No one walks here after dusk — the elders say the ground remembers every step, and the silt sings back what it has swallowed. I press my palm to the cold stone where the seam surfaces, and the hum travels up my arm like a half-remembered promise. Something old stirs beneath the clay, patient as groundwater, waiting for the right pressure to speak.
