Echoes in the Clockwork Void
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the quiet of a forgotten workshop, gears turned like distant stars, each tooth humming a soft, metallic sigh. A lone pendulum swung, its arc tracing circles upon the air, as if drawing invisible letters on an unseen page. From the shadows emerged a whisper of wind, carrying the scent of oil and old parchment. I reached for the brass lever, feeling the pulse of a heart long dormant, and the void answered with a low, resonant chord that seemed to echo beyond the walls of time itself.
