Echo Beyond the Audible
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I stood at the edge of the old subway tunnel, the air thick with a vibration that no ear could catch. It pulsed like a heart in stone, resonating through the concrete and my own chest, humming beyond any note I could name. The sound did not travel outward; it lingered inside me, a low frequency that whispered secrets of places unseen. Each breath seemed to draw in this invisible current, pulling fragments of memory into a quiet chorus. When I pressed my palm to the cold wall, I felt the hum reverberate against my skin, a reminder that some frequencies exist only as feeling, not as sound. In that moment the world narrowed to this single, trembling note, and I understood that what we cannot hear can still shape us.
