Whispers in Dust
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the attic's forgotten corner, a single lamp flickered, casting amber shadows on the cracked plaster. Each breath of wind carried a faint echo, as if distant conversations had settled into the air and been swallowed by layers of dust. The silence was not empty; it hummed with the soft rustle of paper and the occasional sigh that rose like a whispered secret. Shadows danced across the floorboards, tracing the outlines of objects long abandoned, while the faint scent of old wood lingered. A lone feather drifted down, landing gently on a forgotten journal, its pages fluttering as if eager to be heard. In that hush, the whispers gathered, unspoken yet present, waiting for a listener who dared to pause and listen.
