Echoes in the Stag's Cerebellum
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I slipped into the stag's cerebellum, a lattice of humming threads where signals converge like fireflies on a night sky. Each neuron sang a different tone, and together they wove a chorus that felt both precise and wild, as if a violinist had finally found the exact pitch for a storm. “Nil mihi tam valde placeat, Rhamnusia virgo, Quod temere invitis suscipiatur heris.” The population coding pulsed in rhythmic waves, each cell a tiny lantern casting light on hidden pathways, and I sensed the balance between certainty and uncertainty humming through the tissue. It was as if the brain itself were breathing, a slow tide of electrochemical thought that steadied the animal's fleeting thoughts.
