Evening on the Hill
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I stood on the hill as the sun slipped behind the distant ridge, watching the sky melt into shades of amber and rose. The wind carried a faint, familiar scent—pine and rain—soothing my thoughts. Below, a meadow stretched out like a soft carpet, each blade trembling in rhythm with a gentle breeze that seemed to hum a low, steady chord. I lifted my face toward the horizon, feeling the vastness above settle into a quiet certainty within me. In that breathless moment, I understood that peace is not an absence of noise but the harmony of many sounds settling into a single, calm note.
