Midnight Between Beats
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The lighthouse stood like a tired sentinel, its beam slicing through the amber hush, each wave of light tracing the scars of countless storms. I walked the stone steps, feeling the cold breath of wind that whispered stories older than the sea, and when the lantern finally flickered out, I lingered in the soft glow, listening to the echo of my own heartbeat against the vast night. The tide’s sigh became a lullaby, and the tower, a keeper of forgotten promises, held its quiet vigil long after the world grew still.
In those 160 seconds I reflected on the lighthouse's quiet vigil and felt the rhythm of waves sync with the pulse within me. The night held its breath, and I left the place as gently as a feather returning to its nest. done
