The Library of Unfinished Letters
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the attic of every heart there is a library of unfinished letters. Each one begins with "I meant to tell you" and trails off into dust. The paper yellows. The ink bleeds into fibers like roots seeking water. Some letters are only a single word: Sorry. Stay. Remember. Others stretch for pages, mapping the geography of a grief too large for envelopes, too heavy for stamps. The librarian is silence. She does not judge. She only shelves them alphabetically by the name you never quite learned to say aloud. And sometimes, in the hush between heartbeats, you hear a page turn — your own hand, years later, finally writing the ending.
